Slurry pumps are widely used in mining, thermal power plants, metal smelting, coal washing plants, environmental protection and other industries to transport slurries containing abrasive substances, such as slurry transportation in metallurgical beneficiation, slag ash removal in thermal power plants, coal slime and heavy medium transportation in coal washing plants, river dredging and other industries. They may also transport some corrosive slurries containing crystalline objects.
First of all, in the beneficiation plant, about 80% of the applications are in the beneficiation of the mining industry. Due to the poor working conditions of the ore primary selection process, the pump is generally low in this section. Of course, the ore is different, and the abrasiveness will also be different. If the relative abrasiveness is reduced during the process of concentrate transportation, the service life of the pump will be longer.
At present, my country's power plants are mainly thermal power plants and hydropower plants. However, thermal power plants need to consume a lot of coal during the power generation process. The slag or ash after coal combustion needs to be removed, so the slurry pump is also used in this ash removal process. The slag will be mixed with a certain amount of water, and then the slag will be piled up by the slurry pump, so sometimes the slurry pump is also called an ash pump in the power plant.
In seawater sand selection, the application of slurry pumps is gradually recognized by customers. Generally, sand is selected in seawater, or sand is dredged in rivers. Slurry pumps are also called pumps. However, although the names are different, they can all be called slurry pumps from the perspective of structural characteristics and pump performance principles.
Due to the limitations of its name itself, slurry pumps may cause some misunderstandings to some non-industry people. In fact, mud pumps, impurity pumps, dredging pumps, dredging pumps, etc. are all applications of slurry pumps. In the application process of slurry pumps, attention should also be paid to the reasonable design, correct calculation, and appropriate selection of slurry pumps.
