Characteristics and selection requirements of industrial pumps

In industrial production (taking chemical production as an example), typical pumps are: feed pump, return pump, tower bottom pump, circulating pump, product pump, injection pump, replenishment pump, flushing pump, sewage pump, fuel oil pump, lubricating oil pump And sealing liquid pump, etc.

Requirements for pumps in industrial installations

1. Must meet the requirements of industrial parameters such as flow, head, pressure, temperature, and NPSH.

2. Must meet the requirements of medium characteristics.

(1) For pumps that transport flammable, explosive, toxic or precious media, reliable shaft seals or leak-free pumps are required, such as canned pumps, magnetic drive pumps, diaphragm pumps, etc.

(2) For pumps that transport corrosive media, it is required that the overflow parts be made of corrosion-resistant materials.

(3) For the pump that transports the medium containing solid particles, wear-resistant materials are required for the flow parts, and the shaft seal should be flushed with clean liquid if necessary.

3. Must meet the on-site installation requirements.

(1) Measures to prevent atmospheric corrosion are required for pumps installed in the presence of corrosive gases.

(2) For the pump installed in the outdoor ambient temperature lower than -20 ℃, it is required to consider the cold and brittle phenomenon of the pump, and use low temperature resistant materials.

(3) For pumps installed in explosive hazardous areas, explosion-proof motors should be used according to the level of the hazardous area.

(4) For a factory that is overhauled once a year, the continuous operation cycle of the pump should generally not be less than 8000h. In order to meet the requirements of a three-year overhaul, it is stipulated that the continuous operation period of pumps for petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries should be at least three years.

(5) The design life of the pump is generally at least 10 years. The design life of centrifugal pumps for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries is specified to be at least 20 years.

(6) The design, manufacture and inspection of the pump shall comply with the relevant standards and specifications.

(7) The pump factory should ensure the performance of the pump within the range of power supply voltage and frequency variation. The specific variation range is: voltage 380V±10%, 3000V±10%, 6000V±10%

        Frequency 50Hz±1Hz

(8) When determining the model and manufacturer of the pump, factors such as pump performance, energy consumption, reliability, price and manufacturing specifications should be comprehensively considered.
